Coca-Cola Can't Keep Saying That Vitaminwater Is Healthy

Coca-Cola KO 0.07% is being forced to change its Vitaminwater labels.

The company has just settled a lawsuit about misleading claims that it has previously made about the drink. As part of the settlement, WTOP reports, the beverage company will no longer be allowed to use those claims and it must add the words “added sugars” in two places on the Vitaminwater label.

Companies Agree To Stop Promoting Beauty Products With Synthetic Ingredients As “All Natural”

One would assume when buying a product marketed as “all-natural” or “100% natural” that said product wouldn’t contain synthetic ingredients like phenoxyethanol or polyethylene, right? Wrong. At least, that’s the cases for five companies facing action by federal regulators for allegedly making false claims about their products’ ingredients.

The Federal Trade Commission today announced that it had reached deals in which four companies have agreed to settle charges that they falsely claimed their personal-care products were “all natural” or “100% natural,” despite the fact that they contain synthetic ingredients.

ABA challenges San Francisco sugary drink warning labels in court

A lawyer representing the American Beverage Association has asked U.S. District Judge Edward Chen to prevent San Francisco from enforcing mandatory warning labels on ads for sugary drinks that appear on city property. ABA argues that the label, set to take effect in July, allegedly undermines free speech, and is misleading.

Moore Regional Hospital recognized for promoting breastfeeding

In an effort to encourage more of its patients to breastfeed, Women & Children’s Services at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital has joined the “Ban the Bag” campaign of the North Carolina Breastfeeding Coalition, a program designed to eliminate the marketing of infant formula from the state’s maternity facilities.

In recognition of its participation in the program, the Moore Regional service has received an NCBC “Golden Bow” award and been acknowledged on the NCBC website.
