Phillipsburg School District to display corporate advertisements in schools

Ads are everywhere these days: They pop up online, precede the name of college football bowl games and will shortly appear in Phillipsburg schools.
Phillipsburg School Board members tonight unanimously approved an agreement with Maplewood, N.J.-based Advantage3 for marketing and promotion for advertising in the high and middle schools.
The school district will pay a one-time fee of $7,500 for the high school and $5,000 for the middle school to enter into a five-year contract, according to tonight’s agenda.
