School board loosens the reins on advertising

The Rochester School Board approved a policy measure on Tuesday that loosens the reins on advertising in schools and possibly brings in a little more cash.
Under the new policy, commercial advertising would be allowed in district athletic facilities, including stadiums, ball fields and gyms, as well as auditoriums, hallways and any other place where the “advertising would not solely be directed to students.”
But it would prohibit commercial advertising in classrooms, lockers and restrooms.
