South San latest to allow ads on buses

Public school districts often shy away from advertising, but in this era of tight budgets, more are letting ads be placed on their buses.
Late Wednesday night, South San Independent School District’s trustees approved allowing ads on its fleet of 30 buses — becoming the third Bexar County district to do so since May, joining Judson and Comal ISDs.
Whereas many districts last year cut back to meet budget shortfalls after the Legislature slashed public education funding by $5.4 billion, South San is among those also trying to boost revenue.
