Third Channel One/Primedia Lobbyist Pleads Guilty to Corruption
By Gary Ruskin
Commercial Alert
Neil Volz, a former lobbyist for Channel One/Primedia, pled guilty today to consipracy to bribe public officials. He is the third lobbyist for the company Channel One/Primedia to plead guilty to corruption charges. The other two were Jack Abramoff and Tony Rudy.
It takes a special kind of person—like Abramoff, Rudy and Volz—to defend the commercial exploitation of schoolchildren. Channel One forces more than seven million children to watch ads in schools.
For more information about the lobbying activities of Abramoff, Rudy and Volz on behalf of Channel One and Primedia, see the Senate Office of Public Records’ lobby disclosure filings.
Ralph Reed, too, was a lobbyist for Channel One. For more information about his lobbying on behalf of Channel One, see this excellent article by Andrew Wheat in the Multinational Monitor.
