Senate Commerce Committee Tells FCC to Study BusRadio
By Gary Ruskin
Commercial Alert
Today, the U.S. Senate commerce committee approved an amendment by Sen. Byron Dorgan to require the Federal Communications Commission to study BusRadio and determine whether it is “in the public interest.” The amendment was adopted by voice vote; there were no objections.
BusRadio is a new company that puts radios with advertising on school buses. Every hour of programming contains eight minutes of advertising.
The amendment is one more step in our efforts to make schools commercial-free, and to drive BusRadio out of every school in the country.
Thanks so much to all of you who emailed your Senators in support of the BusRadio amendment.
