Student Lender to Stop Using College and Team Names in Marketing

A student lender that paid students as much as $50 for referring classmates for loans and paid dozens of universities to use the institutions’ names, athletic team names, logos and mascots on advertising material sent to student borrowers has agreed to stop these marketing tactics, the New York attorney general announced Tuesday.
