New Trier to discuss naming rights, advertising

The New Trier High School board is considering a major philosophical change to bestow naming rights on big-dollar donors.
A committee will be formed to explore that option, as well as advertising opportunities at the school. A similar committee in 2008 rejected those options.
Board Member Carol Ducommun was on that original committee, where she voted to restrict naming rights and advertising possibilities aimed at generating revenue.
“I think I could back off some of those” recommendations, Ducommun said at a Jan. 17 school board meeting.
